LIBNOR held a ceremony for distributing the NL Conformity Mark to a number of companies and announcing that LIBNOR acquired the ISO 9001 Certification at the Industrial Research Institute
The visit began with an introduction of IRI's key personnel and their role at IRI, a look back at IRI's history, a tour of the laboratories and facilities.
The Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation Project (LCECP) in collaboration with IRI, organized a workshop on the Testing Facilities of Energy Efficiency Standards.
The dissemination seminar for the Plastic Production and Recycling sector was held at the Meridian Commodore Hotel – Hamra on the 7th of January 2008. It was co-organized with the Environmental Fund for Lebanon Project (EFL).
IRI offered a 4-week training course on Analytical Training: Chemical and Microbiological examination including requirements for the competence of testing.
The Director General of the Industrial Research Institute,
Dr. Bassam Frenn, singed a collaboration accord with the German Institute, Fraunhofer ABK, Berlin.
The Industrial Research Institute organized a Level 1 Non-Destructive Testing training course in its facilities and laboratories.The first part of the two-week training session consisted of the theoretical aspects of non-destructive testing, while the second part focused on the practical aspects.

Day in collaboration with QUALEB Mr. Ail Berro held his propositions during a metrology seminar organized under the patronage of Their Excellencies Minister Sami Haddad, and Minister Michel Pharaon.
The Director General of the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO), H. E. Mohammed Bin-Yousef meets with IRI Director General, Dr. Bassam Frenn, Acting Director General of the Ministry of Industry, Mr. George Khoury, and LCPC Director Dr. Ali Yaacoub.
The initial seminar is the first step in the In-plant Demonstration phase in the Industrial sub-sector of Plastic Production and Recycling which targeted the managers and owners of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) under this sub-sector.
IRI and the International Union of Engineers and Scientists using the French Language (UISF), under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Economy and Trade, with the collaboration of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists, the Order Of the Engineers and LIBNOR with two French institutes AFNOR and LNE, organize this seminar.
