| Ensemble Pour La Qualité |

A three-day seminar was organized at the Industrial Research
Institute (IRI), on October 28,29,30, 2002 with the help of Mr.
Georges Abi Rached, CEO Moody International for Certification,
and a French Association of Quality Professionals, named
"Ensemble pour la Qualité".
The aim of the grouping is to help Lebanese organizations become
more aware of the need to re-engineer their companies and adapt
the new ISO 9001:2000 standards, if they hope to benefit from
the European partnership agreement and prosper in the coming age
of Globalization.
Dr. Bassam Frenn, Director General of IRI,
greeted the group by stressing,
"International trade was based on a Quality/price
equation. Today,
successful companies base their equation
on Total Quality principles
even on Quality
First.
For us at the Institute, we aim to achieve two major objectives:
Raise the level of competitive advantage for Lebanese industry,
and protect the Lebanese consumer."
Our hopes are that in the future we will have a similar Lebanese
Association.
