Analytical Training: Chemical and Microbiological examination including requirements for the competence of testing.
The Industrial Research Institute offered a training course on Analytical Training: Chemical and Microbiological examination including requirements for the competence of testing. This was a 4-week course beginning on October 22 and ending on November 16, 2007.
Attending this course were 8 employees of the Central Laboratory and Quality Control Laboratories, from the Ministry of Planning, Kurdistan Regional Government, Iraq.
The training course began with a week long session of lectures in the field of food testing. During this week, IRI employees introduced the trainees the Quality Management System, the implementation of ISO 17025 and ISO 9001, in addition to presenting them with case studies and good laboratory practices.
Once the classroom part of the course was completed, the practical testing began. The trainees then headed to the laboratories for a 3-week session on performing the necessary food tests according to the International Reference Methods. The trainees were divided into 2 groups, chemical and microbiological, for more specialized training.
Upon completion of the course, four participants received a certificate of Analytical Training: Chemical and Physical examination including requirements for the competence of testing. And four received a certificate in Analytical Training: Microbiological examination including requirements for the competence of testing.
