Signing of Scientific Accord

IRI Signs a Scientific Accord with the University of Littoral
Côte d’Opale

The Director General of IRI, Dr. Bassam Frenn and the president of the University of Littoral Côte d’Opale, Prof. Edward Anthony signs an accord of scientific collaboration between IRI – Lebanon and ULCO – France. The signing of the accord which took place on Thursday March 8th, 2007 was held at IRI, Lebanese University Campus, Hadath.

This collaboration includes research, education and training as well as the dissemination of scientific knowledge. Both institutions will join forces to better implement the proposed activities and reciprocate their networks of local, national, and international partners, to achieve a competent reassessment of research.

In his address, Dr. Frenn welcomes the French delegation, and commends their ongoing scientific and research collaboration between Lebanon and France. He also declares that the signing of this protocol is the fruit of mutual efforts focusing on the importance of partnership projects that serve industry, science, and research.

Representing IRI, are Ms. Nadia Khoury, Applied Research & Testing Director, Mr. Sélim Kfoury, Financial & Administrative Director, Dr. Imad Hage Chehade, Technology and Development Director and Dr. Joseph Matta, Division Head of the National Laboratory.

The French ULCO delegation consists of Faustin Aissi, vice-president of the Board of Directors and Head of International Affairs, Roger Durand, vice president of the Scientific Board, Antoine Aboukais, Director of the Laboratory for the Catalysis and Environment, Edmond Abi-Aad, Head of the Environmental Masters Program.
