The forty soldiers were separated into 7 groups where they were trained on the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding process and the Semi-Automatic Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding process for maintaining and repairing aluminum army vehicles. The training sessions concluded with a qualification exam where all participants successfully completed the Welder Qualification Examination according to international standards. Representing our Honorary guest General Jean Kahwaji was Colonel Eng. Mohammad El Hajj. IRI Directors, Division and Unit Heads were present for the ceremony. IRI’s Director General gave a speech welcoming members of the Lebanese Army, including leaders, officers and soldiers. He commended them for all they are sacrificing to protect our country and its people. He also applauded them for constantly training their members in different fields in order to stay up-to-date on the technical requirements according to international standards.
Colonel Eng. El Hajj gave a speech thanking IRI for organizing this course and he praised the course’s training team especially the training managers of the Lebanese Welding Center, as he stressed the importance of continuing to provide such high level training sessions. Colonel El Hajj, representing General Kahwaji, then took this occasion to present IRI’s Director General, Dr. Bassam Frenn, with a shield of appreciation.
IRI’s Director General, Colonel Eng. El Hajj and Eng. Tarek Hakim, Division Head of the Lebanese Welding Center handed out the certificates of completion to each of the forty soldiers.
The ceremony concluded with an honorary cocktail reception recognizing the participants.
