Measuring equipment for use in the Civil Engineering laboratory, conceived at IRI, built at Fraunhofer, Berlin
IRI’s Director General, Dr Bassam Frenn, and IRI’s Engineering, Testing, and Consultancy Division Head, Mr. Elias Dib, returned from their visit to Fraunhofer, the German institute for technological design and systems production. There they viewed a demonstration of the first-of-its-kind apparatus to be used for measuring in the civil engineering laboratory, and participated in a series of meetings for the implementation the final modifications.
Dr. Frenn clarified that the idea behind the mechanism for this piece of equipment evolved here at IRI, where engineers carried out academic research and began serious discussions for designing and completing the necessary features for executing this project.
In addition, Dr. Bassam Frenn emphasized that IRI will take all the necessary steps and legal actions for the formal registration of the equipment in Lebanon, and internationally, for copyright protection. This endeavor is yet another one of IRI’s accomplishments in its wide areas of expertise, and especially promotes IRI’s effective cooperation with highly acclaimed international research and technology organizations.
