Considering the importance of the quality of water and its impact on human health and the environment, a special emphasis has been given at our laboratories for water testing.
At the water laboratory, most of the parameters mentioned in national and international standards are tested according to reference test methods of analysis (such as ISO, AOAC, EPA, etc).
These include, among others:
- Physical Properties: pH, turbidity, conductivity, color, etc.
- Chemical composition: TDS, chlorides, hardness, sulfates, calcium, magnesium, and other minerals
- Undesirable components: nitrites, nitrates, ammonia, etc.
- Pesticide residues, Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons and other organic pollutants.*
- Heavy metals: Lead, Arsenic, Mercury, Chromium, Nickel, etc.*
- Microbiological examination.*
*In collaboration with Wet Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Microbiology Laboratories.
In addition, other parameters are tested on domestic and industrial waste waters as well as samples from water bodies (rivers, sea, ponds) for environmental purposes such as:
• Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)
• Phosphates, ammonia, oils and grease, suspended solids…
