On April 11-13, 2011 the Director General of IRI, Dr. Bassam Frenn represented Lebanon, the first non European country to join Eurolab, at the General assembly and meetings.
Accompanying Dr. Bassam Frenn on his mission which took place in Istanbul, Turkey, was Dr. Joseph Matta, IRI's Laboratories Division Head. The session began with the Technical Committee's meetings, then the General Assembly and concluded with the Eurolab seminar.

The impact of Eurolab in the definition of the accreditation requirements
